The publication is known for their fascinating videos giving sneak peeks into celebrity’s homes. Troye Sivan’s 2021 tour of his gorgeous Melbourne home is a must-watch, and last year RuPaul gave AD a tour of his enormous LA mansion.
Now in a new one, reigning RuPaul’s Drag Race champion Nymphia Wind hosts a tour of the show’s studio sets, giving Drag Race stans a look through the show’s various iconic spaces. And yes, the werkroom is really, really big.
“This werkroom has created so many drag icons and has created so many memorable and iconic moments for queer people,” the queen says.
RuP aul’s Drag Race‘s production designer Jen Chu also appears in the video. She gives a fascinating look at how the Drag Race crew designed the different spaces, bring the challenges to life, drag up the props, and more.
“We have an entire massive assortment of glitter and sparkly things, and there is no limit to what we can add glitter and sequins to,” Jen explains.
“We use a lot of hot colors, we use a lot of bright colors, we use a ton of sequins, and I don’t think that’s ever going to change.
“I think it’s important that when the audience is flipping through the channels, that [Drag Race] is instantly recognisable.”
