Viewers have delighted in following the fictional lives of their favorite special agents on NCIS for the past 20 years. Naturally, a lot of people have followed the cast members since the show’s 2003 premiere, including Mark Harmon. New information about the actor’s off-screen activities has emerged despite his efforts to remain anonymous.
As fans know, after 19 seasons of playing Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Mark said goodbye to the popular CBS show in September 2021. Afterward, he spoke out about his surprise exit four episodes into the season, telling Entertainment Tonight that, “Plot-wise, this character has taken the path that it did.” But since then, folks have continued to wonder what he’s been working on as of late, especially since he doesn’t have social media.
While he hasn’t explicitly said anything about returning to TV, Mark did make a huge career move post-NCIS. In early February, The Hollywood Reporter announced that the actor signed to work with the talent agency Gersh.
According to Gersh’s official website, the company represents clients in a number of departments, including talent, production and more. The site also states that the clients represented include “award-winning actors, writers, producers, directors and production talent in film, television, new media, branded content, and stage.”
This makes sense for Mark to work with the agency, as he received a number of accolades (including Golden Globes and Emmy Awards nominations) throughout his career.
Gersh collaborates with individuals who have a variety of interests in the entertainment sector, thus Mark’s decision to sign also makes sense in this context. He also conceived, executive produced, and starred in the 2011 USA Network debut of the television movie Certain Prey, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Outside of NCIS, fans recognize Mark for his roles in a number of movies and TV. He had a recurring role in season 3 of The West Wing, along with starring alongside Mandy Moore in the 2004 film Chasing Liberty. He also played Jamie Lee Curtis’ love interest in the remake of Freaky Friday. What’s more, the California native has done voiceover work (like in Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths) and starred in a number on onstage productions.
Despite the fact that Mark hasn’t been onscreen since stepping away from NCIS, it looks like folks may be in for a new era with the actor!
