MANILA — Filipina drag queen Eva Le Queen did not expect how close she and fellow “RuPaul’s Drag Race: Global All Stars” queen Alyssa Edwards would get.
Alyssa is one of the most prominent queens from the hit US reality competition showcasing the art of drag, competing in the show’s Season 5 and US All Stars 2.
Eva and Alyssa got acquainted on “Global All Stars” but grew their bond during the show’s latest episode aired Friday.
In the ninth episode, the eliminated queens were back to do the makeover challenge with the remaining queens.
In the process of their makeover, Eva shared how lucky she feels to have been mentored by the American queen.
“They say never meet your idol. But this lady has given me dance lessons, put me in her makeup, told me I could join beauty pageants and made me wear the most ostrich feathers I’ve ever had yet,” she said.
Even outside the competition, the Filipina queen testified how Alyssa continued to be her sister.
“We’ve shared a lot of who we are as Justin and Jace and never in my wildest dreams have I imagined I’ll ever get to call THE Alyssa Edwards my sister and have her cheer and root for me in and out of drag,” Eva said.
“Such a beautiful life I have to have you in it! I love you to bones @AlyssaEdwards_1,” she added.
Eva and Alyssa got good critiques, helping the latter stay another week in the competition.
Alyssa expressed how glad she is to call Eva as part of her family.
“I’m beyond touched by your words. To share this journey w/you has been one of the greatest global gifts,” she said.
“You’ve got such a beautiful spirit, and I’m honored to call you my forever family. Here’s to many more feathers, laughs, & unforgettable memories. I Love you endlessly.”
Eva was the representative of the Philippines in the latest spin-off series of the hit reality competition series “RuPaul’s Drag Race” who ended her journey in 10th place.
The Emmy Award-winning original series has featured the talents of Filipino drag queens in the US and several overseas in editions through the years.
