Spoilers for General Hospital hint that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and her daughter Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) might finally get a chance to patch things up.
It’s unclear at this point whether they will ever be able to connect as mother and daughter because their relationship has taken many unexpected turns.
Willow found out about Nina’s biological motherhood until lately. She thought Harmony (Inga Cadranel) was her mother up until that moment. Willow was shocked to learn that wasn’t the case, especially after learning who her real parents were.
Nina Reeves and Willow Tait have a lot of bad blood in their history.
Years before they ever knew they were related; Willow and Nina didn’t get along. But once Nina found out that Willow was hers, she tried everything she could think of to forge a relationship with Willow.
Everything Nina did seemed to pay off when Willow became more open to getting to know her mother. But everything fell apart once Willow discovered that Nina had anonymously tipped off the SEC to Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) crime of insider trading. Once again, Willow wanted nothing to do with Nina.
Nina Reeves lost Sonny Corinthos!
Nina’s marriage to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) imploded once the SEC truth came out. Carly wasn’t the only person implicated in insider trading, as Drew Cain (Cameron Matheson) actually went to prison because of Nina.
Drew’s could only think of revenge when he discovered he went to jail because of Nina.
But during one of their many arguments, Nina and Drew gave in to passion. Shockingly, Drew then agreed to put in a good word with Willow for Nina.
Willow Tait may follow Drew Cain’s example!
Willow started to question whether or not she had been too quick to cut her mother off after observing that Nina and Drew appeared to be getting along. She went so far as to suggest to Nina that she might be open to forgiving her again. Even though Nina is thrilled, she probably wonders how long it will last this time.
Given their past, it’s not exactly safe to assume that Drew will support Nina in the long run. Furthermore, Willow’s response to learning of Nina and Drew’s private interactions is unpredictable.
But the truth is, Willow and Nina can only go back and forth so many times. Perhaps it’s time for them to permanently embrace their relationship.
What do you think?
Were you surprised that Drew and Nina had sex? Should Willow stay far away from Nina forever? Or is it time for them to reconcile once and for all? Anything can happen in Port Charles so stay tuned to General Hospital airing weekdays on ABC.
