Sonny won’t be happy to learn the news, that’s for sure.
General Hospital spoilers for the Thursday, April 18 episode focus on verbal sparring, gift-giving, mother/daughter talks, and more perceived betrayals. Do not miss this episode.
Scorched Earth or Barely a Blip
The most appropriate word to describe Sonny (Maurice Benard — who shares thoughts on his current anxiety struggles here) learning that Dex (Evan Hofer) is becoming a cop is, “Yikes.” Because Sonny’s mindset isn’t in a good place, he feels everybody in Port Charles has betrayed him except for maybe Ava (Maura West), Kristina (Kate Mansi), and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna). It doesn’t help that he already has to contend with Jason (Steve Burton) working for the feds.
So when Sonny realizes Anna (Finola Hughes) recruited Dex for the PCPD, how will he react? This can go one of two ways. Either he goes scorched earth and finishes what he started when he found out Dex was a plant in his organizati on. Or he completely ignores Dex’s existence and this betrayal isn’t even worth a reaction.
Verbal and Emotional Punches
Joss (Eden McCoy) worries that Dex becoming a cop will put him back on Sonny’s radar. So, of course, she decides to take matters into her own hands and makes a plea to Anna (Finola Hughes). Will Joss ask the PCPD Commissioner to cut Dex loose? Or will she ask her to protect Dex at all costs? Maybe all of the above?
Elsewhere, teasers suggest that Nina (Cynthia Watros) spars with Drew (Cameron Mathison). Is this a verbal sparring match like they’ve been attempting to do lately? Or is this actually sparring in a gym? With Drew suddenly wanting to get into the fitness biz, one never knows.
Heartfelt Gifts and Talks
Jason gives Carly (Laura Wright) a gift. Does this mean he pulled the trigger on buying Carly’s half of the Metro Court back? It didn’t take Nina long to cut the hotel cord in order to concentrate on Crimson.
Finally, Lois (Rena Sofer) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) remain in wedding planning mode. But look for them to take a bit of a breather and have a much-needed and heartfelt mother/daughter talk.
