General Hospital Recap: Sonny Corinthos Isn’t Sure He Can Trust Selina Wu

The General Hospital recap features Sonny Corinthos asking for help and issuing a warning.

General Hosptial Recap Highlights

In this episode, Sonny tried to find out what Selina knew about the warehouse shooting after advising Josslyn to keep her eyes and ears open. Laura tried to get Esme to trust her and vice versa so she left her alone with the baby and money to see what she would do. Marshall and Trina had some warm moments together and then Spencer arrived at the door. Finally, Eileen gave Victor a fake necklace and prayed he wouldn’t figure out it wasn’t the real deal. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.

Sonny Corinthos Means Business

Cameron (William Lipton) and Joss (Eden McCoy) met up at Kelly’s where he was picking up his final paycheck, and Joss made the bold move of bringing up the topic of Dex (Evan Hofer). Just then, Dex walked in with Sonny (Maurice Benard), so all talk stopped quickly as Sonny congratulated Cam on going to Stanford. Soon, Sonny asked to speak to Joss outside, leaving Cam and Dex face-to-face with one another. Cam warned Dex not to ever hurt Josslyn, or he would tell Sonny all about them.

Outside, Sonny asked Joss to keep her eyes and ears open for any danger when around Carly and her sisters, and Joss said she already knew there was some trouble. When Sonny asked how she knew, she lied and said that Carly (Laura Wright) told her something happened to keep Donna from staying with him.

Sonny and Dex then met with Selina (Lydia Look) to see what she knew about the shooter, who had been at the Highsider bar that she owned. Selina said she couldn’t help Sonny, and Sonny wasn’t happy about that. He wondered if she was just refusing to help him. Sonny also wanted to know why she never told him about buying Brando’s (Johnny Wactor) garage. Selina apologized, and Sonny warned her that she better not double-cross him. Selina assured him that his new enemy was her new enemy too.

GH Recap: Esme Wants To Run, Trina Is Torn

Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) made Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl) a morning drink to help her produce more breast milk but was catty to her, something that Laura didn’t like, so he was forced to apologize. They were all a little alarmed when Victor (Charles Shaughnessy) arrived at the door, so Spencer took him into the hall to talk while Esme voiced her trepidation about the man. Laura tried to assure Esme that she would be protected living with her, but Esme later seemed bothered when Spencer mentioned a party for Cam.

Laura (Genie Francis) and Esme then had a one-on-one talk when Laura reiterated that one of the reasons she could feel sympathy for Esme is because she was separated from Nikolas when he was a baby. Laura then told Esme she was a believer in redemption, but pointed out that Spencer had a lot of reasons to distrust her. Laura said she was trying to believe in her, but she wasn’t fully there yet.

When Laura asked if Esme could trust her, Esme also wasn’t sure, but Laura thought it was time they both took a leap of faith. Laura even told her she would trust her alone and gave her some money just in case she needed it. Esme debated about staying but finally grabbed the money and the baby, and tried to bolt, only to find Cameron at the front door.

In the hall, Spencer warned Victor to not show up like that again, and Victor didn’t take kindly to that at all, telling Spencer that nobody gives him orders, especially when it comes to his family. Spencer did his best to convince Victor that he had a plan and that once Esme was back in jail, he would have custody of Ace and let Victor have visitation.

Later, Spencer stopped by Victor’s hotel room to discuss the Esme situation. He was afraid that a free Esme might take off and leave town with Ace and wanted Victor’s help to make sure that didn’t happen. Victor assured him there was no way he would even allow Esme to raise that child, and they just had to bide their time.

Marshall (Robert Gossett) and Trina (Tabyana Ali) sat down for a talk, and both admitted they weren’t sure where they belonged anymore. Eventually, talk of Spencer came up, and Trina admitted that Spencer was living with his ex-girlfriend again. Trina explained the entire new living arrangement and admitted she still didn’t trust Esme. Marshall was then surprised to learn that it was Trina’s idea for Robert (Tristan Rogers) to drop the charges against Esme.

Marshall was shocked, but he tried to be understanding when Trina explained her reasons. Marshall also wanted to know why Trina needed to be friends with Spencer, but she told the man, who may be her grandfather that Spencer was worth it. She even informed Marshall that she and Spencer have become more than friends over the last few weeks. Trina later looked both happy and shy when Spencer turned up at her front door.

General Hospital Recap: Eileen Delivered Diamonds To Victor

Felicia (Kristina Wagner) brought Eileen (Heather Mazur) back to the safe house, and she wasn’t happy about arriving with a bag over her head. Eileen attempted to be cooperative as they explained to her she had to deliver the necklace — or what seemed like the necklace — to Victor. Eileen was not at all happy when Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) insisted she wears a wire and told them the deal would be off if they forced that on her.

Eileen then made a call to Victor to meet her soon but still refused to wear the wire. But that was fine because Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin would make sure Robert called her about city business at just the right time. Eileen wanted reassurance that she would be free after this assignment, but Anna reminded her none of them were free until they brought down Victor. Soon, Laura was forced to assure Valentin that she believed they could trust Eileen. After that conversation, Valentin had to then reassure Anna.

When Eileen arrived at Victor’s room with the necklace, he was overjoyed to see it and thought he finally had what he wanted. Eileen quickly tried to take off, but Victor got out a jeweler’s loop to make sure the necklace was the real deal.
