General Hospital Recap: As Vanna Breaks Up, Charlotte Remains Broken

Valentin Cassadine needs to pay more attention to Charlotte now.

The General Hospital recap for Wednesday, December 20, 2023, features Anna ending things with Valentin while Charlotte worried her grandparents.

General Hospital Recap Highlights

Also in this episode, Curtis shared his good news, Portia was civil to Spencer, Maxie got a roommate, and Aiden opened up to Liz. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.

The Kid Is Not All Right

Anna (Finola Hughes) called over Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) and explained her side of the story. She told him all about the WSB drama, which she hoped was finally over.

Valentin seemed to take it to mean they could pick up where they left off. Anna did not feel the same, though. She did shoot his child, after all. Plus, she still had plenty of enemies and refused to put him or Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) in danger again. It took everything they had but they agreed to call it quits. Anna took Valentin’s hand and kissed it goodbye.

Back at the house, Charlotte was upset to find Valentin gone but Laura (Genie Francis) and Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) smoothed that over with holiday fun. They wrapped presents and even decided to set up a movie.

Laura stayed in the living room staring at a picture on her phone of Lulu, wishing she was there. Kevin went to the kitchen to ready the hot chocolate and popcorn. Charlotte went to her room to grab presents. Well, not just to grab presents.

Charlotte stood before her mirror admiring her first “battle wound.” She then got Helena’s necklace, let to her in Victor’s will, from her vanity and put it on. She looked at her reflection and said, “Anything for family.”

Kevin interrupted, which startled Charlotte. She berated him for not knocking but smoothed it over by telling him all about her jewelry. Kevin all but rushed downstairs to tell Laura about the whole ordeal. Charlotte’s behavior worried them both.

Good News All Around

Over at the Ashford house, Curtis (Donnell Turner) broke the news of the clinical trial to resounding support. This time next year, he could very well be walking again! Everyone was hopeful.

Spencer (Nicholas Chavez) came around, which didn’t please Portia (Brook Kerr), but she slapped on a smile and invited him inside. A little later, while outdoors fixing the lights, she had a go at him about whether or not he even knew how to love her daughter. Spencer assured her he did and always would.

Meanwhile, Stella (Vernee Wilson) and Marshall (Robert Gossett) shared a moment. They talked about their past and the present and hugged out their issues. When they pulled away, they both seemed surprised by their feelings. Awkwardness set in as Stella beat a hasty retreat.

Across town, Liz (Rebecca Herbst) and the boys welcomed Violet (Jophielle Love) and Finn (Michael Easton) in. Little Violet wasn’t exactly in the holiday spirit, though. Luckily, Jake (Hudson West) was on hand to find out what was wrong. She was scared her daddy was going to jail.

Finn assured her that wasn’t the case. Sure, he’s going to court, but that was because of work, and lock-up wasn’t in the cards. Violet felt a bit better.

In the kitchen, Aiden (Enzo De Angelis) and Liz made cookies. Aiden opened up about his big crush at school. He was into Tobias, and they were spending a lot of time together. Liz thanked him for trusting her enough to tell her.

Welcome Home

Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) showed up at Maxie’s house soaking wet. He claimed a pipe burst in the apartment and ruined nearly all his stuff. Maxie (Kristen Storms) invited him to stay in the spare room as long as he needed. Spinelli only accepted if he could pay rent.

Georgie was thrilled by the news. Felicia (Kristina Wager) was too. They sure fooled Maxie. She gets the financial help she needs, and Spinelli gets to play hero. Perfect.

Adam (Joshua Benard) also got an invitation. Joss (Courtney Fulk; find out why she’s playing her here) jumped into action when she saw he refused to go home. She and Dex (Even Hofer) knocked on his door and offered to have him come with them to Carly’s (Laura Wright) home for the holidays.
