Jack Reagan has been absent from the last few seasons of Blue Bloods. The character decided to attend college in season 10, and despite the occasional mention, he’s been relegated to single-episode cameos.
His last appearance before returning in the season 13 finale was in season 12. This was a decision made on the part of the showrunners after the actor who plays Jack, Tony Terraciano, decided to attend college in real life.
Given that some time has passed, however, there are some fans who are curious as to whether Jack will return to Blue Bloods in season 14, and reunite with the rest of his family. Are we going to be getting a full-fledged Reagan reunion?
Will Jack Reagan be in Blue Bloods season 14?
Unfortunately, it does not look as though a reunion is in the cards for season 14. Tony Terraciano left Blue Bloods to study Neuroscience at Vanderbilt University, and according to H Town Daily, he’s currently studying to become a Doctor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Terraciano’s father, Anthony J. Terraciano, is a doctor who specializes in Ophthalmology, so it’s obvious the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. If there’s one thing to know about doctors, though, it’s that they attend school for a long, long time.
Terraciano may be a few years into his studies, but given what he’s studying to be, it’s safe to assume that he will be busy for the next few years, and will be unable to resume playing his Blue Bloods character. At least, on a regular basis.
Terraciano has proven that he is willing to make cameo appearances on the show, and his younger brother is still a main cast member, so whenever Blue Bloods decides to wrap up (which hopefully won’t be for a while), we have hope that the actor will come and give the character of Jack Reagan a proper send-off.
