Tonight on CBS their hit drama starring Tom Selleck Blue Bloods airs an all-new Friday, May 5, 2023, episode and we have your Blue Bloods recap below. On tonight’s Blue Bloods Season 13 Episode 19 “Fire Drill”,” as per the CBS synopsis, “Jamie partners with the FDNY to find the arsonist responsible for a massive fire at an NYPD evidence storage facility. Also, Danny and Baez feel the ripples of the storage facility fire when all the evidence against a cartel leader Danny brought to justice is destroyed.
Anthony asks Erin to let him lead on a murder case when his friend is killed; and Eddie asks Frank to put her on modified duty following her divisive arrest of an anti-cop protestor at a rally.”

Tonight’s Blue Blood episode begins with a fire at the NYPD evidence warehouse. Danny tells Baez that he just got a call from the federal prosecutor on the Zeragoza’s case, the DNA evidence linking Diego Rodriquez to those seven homocides destroyed in that fire. And, without that evidence the head of the Zaragoza cartel could go free. They have to find some way to link Zaragoza to those murders.
Anthony stops by a smoke shop where a known perp, Freddie James committed a robbery last week, they didn’t have enough to hold him. Anthony speaks to one of the investigators and says he’s your guy. Anthony leave and goes outside, he sees Freddie James and goes over to him, he tells him that he has balls being there, Freddie says he had nothing to do with that guy getting killed.
Elsewhere, Janko and Watson are outside patrolling an anti cop rally when after getting pushed by one woman several times, Janko has no choice but to arrest her and the women falls to the ground and pretends to have been assaulted by Janko while people all all around video taping on their cell phones.
Jamie heads to the FDNY regarding the fire, he is partnering with them to find the arsonist, but they don’t want his help but agree to a joint investigation.
The woman who who claimed to be assaulted by Janko is all over the media, Frank says the evidence is inconclusive and Janko will remain on full duty. Just then, Janko arrives at Frank’s office, he tells Garrett and Sid to say. She says she is sure their is pressure to put her on modify duty, and she has to be for all their good.
She says she didn’t lose excessive force, so he says no. He made his decision. She says he goes out of his way not to show favouritism to anyone in the family, but the public doesn’t see that. He says he doesn’t give them special treatment but he will not condemn them for nothing.
Danny meets with Diego Rodriguez who says he respects his determination to keep in him in prison, his evidence is gone and he advises him to now let it go.
Anthony goes in to Erin, he says that he went by to see Matthew Lassiter, the guy who he helped with his dispensary licence, he is dead, he got shot in his store. No witnesses, but Anthony thinks Freddie James did it, and he wants time to make this right. Matthew lost three years of his life in jail for something that is legal now and all he was doing was trying to make an honest living, he can’t let this go. She says ok, catch him, fast.
Back to the warehouse, Jamie meets with the manager, Martin and he doesn’t want to talk, he just says the place needed major upgrades and nobody would listen. Bradley worked the night shift, he says the sprinklers didn’t go off, and it was a normal night.
Danny visits Moses, who informs him that Diego Rodriguez is set to walk and that he needs Danny’s assistance to keep him behind bars. Moses claims it was business, but Danny claims they saw him enter on the day seven of his men were put to death. Moses claims that the cartel’s business practices include restrictions, including a ban on cutting the product. Those who breached the law were punished, but Moses continues to do business with the cartel.
Anthony wants an arrest warrant for Eddie James, but Erin won’t do it because there isn’t enough evidence.
Janko is back to visit Frank, she is dressed in civilian clothes and says she is better now, cleared by the department and the DA refused to press charges. Frank says there has been a complication, that protestor filed a 2 million dollar lawsuit against the city.
She claims she is incapacitated by a neck injury. Frank says due to the lawsuit, the review board will review the excessive force allegation. Frank can override, but it is a conflict of interest, so he will have to abide by their decision. If CCRB says she crossed the line, she could lose her job. Sid wants to but a TARU team on the victim to see if she is really hurt.
Baez tells Danny there is nothing that ties Rodriquez to the crime scene. Danny says Juan Carlos Lopez was there and they lifted a print off a shell casing at the scene, he is doing life. He refused to identify Rodriquez as an accomplice but maybe after a year inside, they can make him an offer that he can not refuse. It’s a long shot.
Anthony visits the woman who was holding Matthew’s hand when he passed away and was in the store with them when he was shot. When she heard the shots, she sought cover but didn’t see the shooter; when she looked up, he had vanished. She says she will identify him because she wants to assist him.
Jamie is back at the warehouse, the sprinkler system was functional, but disabled, looks like an inside job.
Danny heads back to the prison to speak to Juan Carlos, he tells him that Rodriguez is going back to his villas while he rots here the rest of his life, or he gets an over to get out in exchange for giving them Rodriguez.
Freddie James is in a lineup to be identified, the witness is there and she is scared. She says she can’t do this, she saw Freddie earlier in the day, she was waking her daughter home from school and he came up to them. He told her that her daughter was beautiful and it would be a shame if something happened to her. She wants to help but she can’t have this guy coming after her kid.
Jamie speaks to Bradley again at the warehouse, he tells him that Martin was recently suspended for altering timecards, he was furious, making threats. He said they messed with the wrong guy and he felt like burning the place down.
Frank sits down with Henry about Janko for advice. Henry says he saw the body cam footage, the victim could win an Oscar. Henry says they should put surveillance on the victim, like Sid suggested.
Baez tells Danny that she can’t believe that he got Lopez to flip. Danny gets a call, they found Lopez dead in his cell, they are back to where they started. Danny says he should have seen it coming, he could have put him into solitaire or something.
Jamie meet with Martin at the station, he says he heard he was pretty upset about being suspended. He says one of his clerks was going through chemo and couldn’t make it, he punched their timecard and he would do it again. When he got promoted to supervisor there was another guy who thought he should get it, but he thought he was just blowing off steam.
Janko’s victim has a flat tire, she whips off the neck brace, gets on her knees and starts to change it, while being videotaped.
Erin goes in to see Anthony and asks him what he is going to do about Freddie James, he says nothing and she tells him not to give up.
Danny goes back to see Rodriguez who says prison is a violent place, he will miss Lopez, and anything he said to Danny is heresay. Rodriguez tells him that he should give up. Danny tells him that he will see him in court. Danny goes to leave and Rodriguez looks at a man seated nearby and gives him a nod.
When Danny exits a deli, he gets in his car and begins to drive away. Danny is aware that two SUVs are following him. Danny comes to a stop close to the lake, squats, two men exit the cars, and the gunfire begins. Sirens are heard, one of the shooters is shot, and Baez hurries to the car to see whether Danny is okay. Danny claims that she took her time, and she then checks on Danny. Danny anticipated receiving a hit from Rodriguez.
Bradley is heading home from the warehouse, Jamie is there and says that he spoke to Martin, he knows that he wanted to be warehouse supervisor. Bradley admits that he was disappointed, he wanted his contribution to be recognized. Jamie says he got a warrant to search his vehicle and found the things he used to set the fire. Bradley thought he could put the fire out and be the hero. Jamie arrests him.
Freddie James walks into a store and pulls a gun on a woman and demands cash, she gives it to him and all of a sudden, Anthony comes out from behind, he set him up.
Danny is at the prison, just as Rodriguez is let go. Danny says the men he sent to kill him admitted that he put the hit on him. Danny tells him that he chose the wrong guy. Rodriguez is arrested again and Danny says it carries a twenty year minimum. Rodriguez tells him that it is a fight that he can’t win.
When Janko returned to meet Frank after receiving a clean bill of health from the CCRB, the victim abruptly dropped the matter like a hot potato. She knows Frank committed it because of the victim’s video, but Frank maintains his innocence. Frank drives Eddie to see Henry and informs him that Eddie has received a clean bill of health. According to Frank, once someone recorded someone changing a tire and reported it, the tire was flattened. When something broke, Henry claims there was no need to talk about it or raise a fuss; you simply fixed it. He longs for those times.
