Farmer Wants A Wife: Are Farmer Joe And Sarah Still Together?

Farmer Joe, a cattle and sheep farmer from Bombala, New South Wales became a stand-out character on this year’s season of Farmer Wants a Wife.

It hasn’t been an easy ride for Joe, who thought he had found “The One” earlier in the series in Susie, who was his mum’s choice and a late addition to the group. But a shock confession that she couldn’t handle farm life led her to exit from the show.

But, by the end of the season, Farmer Joe had fallen for Sarah, a livestock administrator and New South Wales native who grew up on a farm.

“I had a feeling that Sarah would make it pretty far on the show from when [we] very first met. We’ve lived a very similar life,” he told WHO.

During the finale audiences watched Farmer Joe declare his love to Sarah, asking if she wanted to join him on the farm.

“This is one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made,” he admitted, before declaring his love. “I love the person you are. I love how strong and determined you are.”

“It hasn’t always been easy with us. We’ve had some tough times. I’ve sometimes felt that you’ve pulled away,” he continued. “But I also know that you can be a shy person and take your time to get to know people.”

“I also like that you challenge me. I don’t have all the answers for us, but I do see myself falling for you in the future. I want to tackle the future with you by my side, and us as a team.”

“I’m looking for someone who doesn’t need me, but who wants me.”

Are Farmer Joe and Sarah Still Together?

Shortly after their finale episode aired Sarah took to Instagram to share a selfie of the couple.

“Fun fact: My favourite movie is ‘How to lose a guy in 10 days’, so I wore this dress as a good omen,” she captioned the post.

“Can confirm I didn’t lose the guy in 10 days 💛 (According to the rumours it was 11 😉),” she added in response to the breakup rumours that had been circulating.

“There are no proposals in the near future,” Farmer Joe told WHO mid-way through the season. “I think at the end of all this it’s still only early days. The building blocks are there.”

“I definitely see my future on the farm, I’ve plans of building my own house … hopefully there’ll be someone by my side.”

The reunion episode shed some more light on the couple and where their relationship now was, giving fans an update a little over a month after the fin ale was filmed.

“Sarah came and spent some time on the farm with me and we didn’t get off to a great start,” Farmer Joe admitted. “We weren’t seeing eye to eye, we were butting heads…it was like a sugar crash.”

“We quickly realised that we weren’t in a relationship that had been going for two months, we were in a relationship that had been going for two days. We were learning new things about each other. ”

Whilst the couple may have had their hiccups in their early days, the reunion episode saw the couple confirm that they were still together.

“We’re still hanging in there,” Joe laughed. “We’ve had a bit of time apart and it’s been one of the best things for us.

Although Sarah hasn’t moved to the farm yet, it’s a plan they are working on. “[She’s] exactly what I’ve been looking for,” Joe confirmed.

Are Farmer Joe and Sarah Engaged?

Just a few weeks after the reunion episode aired, the couple sparked engagement rumours after fans spotted Sarah wearing a ring on social media.

In a recent video posted to Instagram, Sarah revealed that she had written and performed a song for Farmer Joe during the season – but producers had cut it from the final edit.

Sharing the song online, fans were quick to spot a ring on her left hand and quickly jumped to the conclusion that it could be an engagement ring.

When approached by Yahoo! Lifestyle, Farmer Joe didn’t quite deny the rumours, joking: “It was only a week ago we were short odds for being broken up. We move quickly around here.”

However, Sarah confirmed to the publication that the pair weren’t ready to become engaged just yet.

“Those rumours aren’t true; the camera was flipped in selfie mode, and the ring was actually on my right finger,” she confessed. “Loved the enthusiasm from everyone, though!”

Sarah previously took to her Instagram stories to hit back at her edit on the show and plead with fans of the show to stop sharing negative comments online.

“What was supposed to be a happy episode for us, turned out to be very different,” she wrote. “It’s heartbreaking when your true story isn’t shown to the point that it leads the audience to be absolutely dumbfounded by the Farmer’s choice.”

“I have read some really awful things that people have said not only about myself, but about Joe, the other Farmers & the other girls throughout the season,” she continued.

“You do not see everything, please remember that.”
