On General Hospital, Cody chose to hide the DNA results, which would have proven that he was the biological son of Mac Scorpio. (We’d like to see some paperwork on when and how that happened, but that’s neither here nor there.) Port Charles is not a good place to keep secrets. The truth will come out sooner or later. And how should Mac react, then?
General Hospital Polling: You’re No Son of Mine
A grudge-holding 3% want to see Mac (John J. York) turn his back on the ungrateful drifter. If Cody (Josh Kelly) doesn’t want to be his son, then Mac should not want to be his father. Mac raised Robin (Kimberly McCullough), Maxie (Kirsten Storms), and the late Georgie. He has plenty of people who know what a wonderful dad he is and appreciate him.
GH: Nothing To See Here
A more generous 46% of you want Mac to forgive Cody. After all, he already knows the dude is all about money. So what else is new? Mac is the kind of father who accepts his kids for who they are. How many times has he stood by Maxie, as she does dumb thing after dumb thing after Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) after Peter (Wes Ramsey)? If Mac can put up with that, he can put up with Cody’s mercenary nature.
Take Your Time, Mac Scorpio
A winning 51% is OK with Mac eventually forgiving Cody, but you want it to take a while. Make Cody work for it. He needs to really prove he’s sorry. And not only that. Cody needs to prove that he truly understands what a special person Mac is and why he was wrong to mess with him like that. These two can build a father-and-son relationship, but it was to be based on honesty, not guilt — and not obligation.
