Big Brother 25 Backlash Ensues As CBS Announces Yet Another Schedule Change

Big Brother 25 fans are in an uproar as yet another change is being made to the television schedule to make room for other reality series.

Big Brother season 25 is facing backlash as fans reacted negatively to yet another change to the hit reality competition series’ television schedule. Big Brother returned for its milestone season on August 2, airing its usual three nights a week on CBS. However, between delays due to sports and changes to the schedule, Big Brother 25 viewing times have been inconsistent, causing some fans to miss episodes and forcing them to watch them on other platforms the following day.

Now another change has some viewers in an uproar. In an Instagram post, Big Brother announced another change to its schedule.

In an attempt to make light of the situation, CBS blamed the switch on Big Brother 25’s multiverse twist, writing, “The BB multiverse brings yet another twist…There will be no #BB25 episode tonight (Wednesday, September 27). Starting next week, Big Brother episodes will shift from Wednesday to Tuesday each week.” As a result of this change, Big Brother 25 can now be viewed Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The live Thursday episodes have been changed back to 9 p.m. EDT instead of 8 p.m. EDT. CBS will now air Survivor and The Amazing Race on Wednesdays.

Fans React To Another Big Brother 25 Schedule Change

In the comments section of Big Brother’s Instagram post, fans expressed their outrage about the constant schedule changes. @phylofthepast wrote, “This schedule is ridiculous [eyeroll emoji] this is why BB should stay a summer show.” @mzgee__ said, “The schedule ain’t scheduling for me.” @itslisaaa19 lamented the 10 p.m. air time, writing, “I hate how late Sundays are, you need to change Sundays!” @keantaejerel pointed out what many fans were wondering, saying, “So Wednesdays can get changed to Tuesday, but y’all still holding on to that inconvenient Sunday slot?” @mbunch67 added, “Good thing the DVR handles the recording. In the days of VCR this would be a problem.”

Big Brother is in its 25th season, but it just doesn’t seem to be a priority at CBS. It’s now the expendable show that can be moved around on the schedule without warning. However, this could also be happening because CBS knows that fans aren’t going to simply stop watching episodes over an inconvenient time slot the way they might drop a show that airs only once a week. The network is taking advantage of its loyal fans because it knows that they’ll stick with the show no matter when it airs in order to keep up with all the action.

Hopefully, this will be the last Big Brother 25 schedule change until the finale airs in November. The whole situation has caused confusion, especially since the 10 p.m. Sunday night time slot is so late. When Big Brother airs in the summer, it’s a priority, but moving it to the fall due to the strikes seems to have negatively affected its status with CBS. The network has prioritized sports and other shows over the reality competition series all season. Big Brother deserves better from CBS after 25 seasons.

Big Brother season 25 airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EDT, Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT, and Thursdays at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
