According to General Hospital spoilers, Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) will learn why the judge who condemned Cameron Mathison’s character Drew Cain (in the SEC case) is so prejudiced against him.
Diane thinks it’s strange that someone who served their nation and was in the Navy would receive such a terrible penalty because of his or her honorable background, which ought to have worked for him rather than against him.
Furthermore, Pentonville is a facility for seasoned criminals. Someone who was arrested for nothing more than insider trading is not in the right position. Drew didn’t even stand to gain anything from it.
Since Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) has asked Diane to look into ways they can get Drew released early, Diane decides she wants to try to help.
After talking with Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers), Diane thinks it may have something to do with Drew’s rescue mission and saving the world in Greenland. Drew is a decorated Navy Seal officer who did what the WSB couldn’t do.
The WSB wouldn’t lift a finger to help Drew since he embarrassed them. The judge may have been coerced, but there are other working theories.
Did Tracy Pay Off the Judge?
To avenge Drew for accusing Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) of turning him over to the SEC, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) had the option of buying off the judge.
Additionally, given that Drew was aware that Tracy was extorting Brooklyn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), she might have just wanted Drew out of the way.
Tracy was asked by Drew to persuade Ned to dismiss the SEC allegations. He promised to inform Ned of what Brooklyn was doing. When Ned banged his head and fell into the Metro Court pool, Tracy even made an attempt to get Drew into trouble.
It could have also been a clever way for Tracy to prevent the merger between Aurora and ELQ.
She may have found out about the deal and stopped it. Ned was upset that there would be no place for him with the company, and he sided with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).
Maybe Tracy did it to back Ned and protect ELQ’s interests since the company thrived under Valentin’s leadership.
Is Cyrus Influencing the Judge?
Another reasonable hypothesis is that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) had the judge in the back of his mind.
Cyrus may have staged the entire altercation in the prison and even pretended to have a heart attack so that the Navy Seal officer could engage in combat with the aggressor.
After that, he anticipated Drew would need Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard’s) protection, so he gave Cyrus Sonny’s protection. Additionally, Cyrus might be the brains behind Pikeman.
Cyrus seems oddly interested in Drew and is like a spider trying to capture him into his web. Even before the prison fight, Cyrus constantly tried to bring Drew into his flock.
A more bizarre, less likely theory is that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) paid off the judge. If Drew had a harsh sentence just to hurt Carly since she knew Carly did not plead guilty.
Nina may have seen separating Carly and Drew as the ultimate way to ruin Carly’s life.
Nina might not have given it much thought, as usual. Even if Drew was given a three-year prison sentence, she figured Sonny would stay with her.
Although Nina doesn’t seem to be so foolish, you never know with her.
Drew’s sentencing is harsh no matter what.
It is safe to believe that the judge is either connected to the WSB or is being bought off by someone.
Diane will investigate it thoroughly in either case.
