Actress Daniela Ruah has teased that she would be open to joining the NCIS: Hawai’i family following the cancellation of NCIS: Los Angeles.
Just two months after NCIS: Los Angeles aired its final episode one of its stars, Daniela Ruah, has teased that she might return to the franchise NCIS: Hawai’i.
“If I get asked, I will certainly figure it out at the time,” she said. “If it makes sense, why not, right?”
The 39-year-old Portuguese/American actress, who played fan favourite character Kensi Blye on the police procedural drama from 2009 until its cancellation, made the remarks to TV Line.
The show was just one of the spin-offs from the original NCIS series and the star has hinted that she would be open to returning although she isn’t short of work having taken on the role of host for the Portugese version of The Traitors.
Her cast mate LL Cool J recently made the leap to the sister show so it would make sense for her to join him.
After a cameo at the end of season two, CBS confirmed that his character Sam Hanna would be a recurring guest in season three.
However, Kensi learned she was set to be a mother in the finale of NCIS: Los Angles which seems to take the character in a somewhat different direction.
After years of teasing fans with their relationship the revelation that she and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) were going to be parents wrapped their story up nicely.
Daniela has previously worked with the cast on the hugely anticipated NCISverse crossover episodes earlier this year.
The specials saw her character team up with agents from the teams in NCIS and NCIS Hawaii although at the time Ruah claimed that it was a far from simple undertaking.
“The thing is logistically, it’s kind of a nightmare for the producers of every show,” Daniela said of the crossover. “Because you have a set of characters that are coming to our show or whatever we’re doing.
“But they have to maybe be on our show in the morning and then, for the regular NCIS, drive back to Santa Clarita to finish off the day up there.
“The coordination of schedules was a big, big deal for the producers and kudos to them for making it work.”
Despite the difficulties organising everything she couldn’t hide her excitement during the filming of the specials taking to her Instagram to tell her 1.1 million followers: “This has been a beautiful experience! Can’t wait for y’all to see what’s in store… love the NCISverse familia.”
