Blue Bloods Star Maria Baez Garners Fan Support Following An Emotional Tribute To A Late Family Member

Fans rallied behind Blue Bloods actress Marisa Ramirez as she paid tribute to her late grandmother.

The actress, best known for her role as Detective Maria Baez on the CBS series Blue Bloods, shared a touching photo of her grandmother holding her daughter, Violet Rae, as she reflected on her grandmother’s influence in her life. Stella was photographed sitting comfortably on a lounge chair, her arms around Violet. Violet is smirking in front of her as her mother takes the photograph.

Stella d1ed in October 2020, but Ramirez has kept her memory alive on social media with sweet posts commemorating significant dates ever since.

“Grandma Stella, Happy Heavenly Birthday!!!” Ramirez wrote in the caption on Instagram.

“I knew there had to be a reason I got so choked up while driving.” Life is difficult without her light!”

She then quoted Janet Jackson’s song “Together Again,” adding, “Dancing in moonlight.” I can see your star shining down on me, so I know you’re free.”

Fans rushed to show their support for the star, pointing out similarities between the matriarch, Ramirez, and her adorable six-year-old.

“In her, I see your face and your daughter’s face!” “Your mini me is super cute!!” wrote one fan, while another added, “Your mini me is super cute!!”

Blue Bloods has been a long-running favorite among US audiences since its debut in 2010 with Tom Selleck leading an all-star cast.

It was announced at the end of March 2023 that the show would return for its incredible 14th season.

However, the Hollywood Reporter reports that series producers and some cast members have taken a 25% pay cut to keep the show on the air and the production team employed.

“Blue Bloods has dominated Friday nights since its premiere and remained an important anchor for CBS’ winning lineup,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment.

“Led by Tom Selleck and an incredible cast and creative team, viewers continue to love the Reagans, their law enforcement family, and the series’ dramatic storytelling.”

“We can’t wait to pull up a chair at the Reagan family dinner table for another incredible season.”

The show currently has an average of 9.5 million viewers, and the renewal cements the series as CBS’s second-longest running scripted show.

They are only surpassed by the original NCIS, which has lasted a whopping 20 seasons, with a 21st already greenlit by the network.

The renewal of Blue Bloods brings it up to date with NCIS: Los Angeles, which is wrapping up its 14th season this year.
